Gestalt Psychotherapy.

Noosa · Kin Kin · Online

Gestalt psychotherapy is grounded in deepening somatic and relational awareness through therapeutic dialogue, attention to what is occurring in the moment, and active experimentation. It is a collaborative process in which we discover and uncover who we are and how we make contact with ourselves, others, and the world.

The intersection of who we are because of our histories and circumstances, and who we hope to become, can be navigated with novelty and creativity when held with a caring presence within a trauma informed therapeutic container.

Gestalt psychotherapy’s relational, field sensitive and experimental approach offers an embodied medium for exploration. This work moves beyond talk therapy or the repeated retelling of our stories. It is a client led, body based and process oriented approach to therapy, with scope for quiet, delicate gentleness, or wild expression, depending on the needs of the client and the moment.

01

Relational

The relationship between us is part of the work. We notice together how you make contact with yourself, others, and the world.

02

Embodied

Sensation, breath, posture, movement, and emotion are welcomed alongside words as meaningful parts of your experience.

03

Experimental

Gentle, client-led experiments can open new possibilities beyond repeating or explaining the same familiar story.

Therapy that includes your whole experience.

Some of the creativity I bring to my Gestalt psychotherapy practice is shaped by my training and experience in family and systemic constellations, various bodywork practices, breathwork, contact improvisation dance and somatic explorations. Elements of these practices may emerge organically within psychotherapy sessions, or clients may choose to book specific sessions to explore these modalities more fully.
